The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus is organizing a Panel Discussion on April 07, 2021 to mark the International World Health Day. The event is aimed at celebrating the founding of the World Health Organization for the overall development and fostering of security in health, conducting of research, enhancement of partnerships and for the strengthening of healthcare systems at local and national levels. The theme for this year is Pandemic: A Fairer and Healthier World. The onset of the CoVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has deeply impacted the healthcare sectors across the globe. India has been severely affected by the pandemic which has exacerbated and deepened the systemic and infrastructural challenges in the Indian healthcare system. The vulnerable communities across India, those most in need of the healthcare services have further been marginalised as the pandemic widens the inequalities in the health sector. Equity in healthcare services is an obstacle that public health advocates have been concerned about in the light of the pandemic especially for developing countries in the Global South. The need of the hour is for all of us to come together to address this disparity by engaging in constructive discussions aimed at identifying the challenges and prioritizing our actions for reforms.
