Dr. Manjeri Subin Sunder Raj is a fifth-generation lawyer and academician. His research focuses on the Rights of Nature and Environmental Rights. He earned his doctoral degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Dr. Subin advocates for embedding cultural practices in law to promote environmental stewardship.
He has authored two editions of his book, Earth Justice: Developing a New Jurisprudence. With over fifty publications, he has spoken at more than one hundred programs globally. Twice awarded the Linnaeus-Palme Fellowship, he has taught at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, Stockholm.
Dr. Subin is the first Indian on the United Nations Harmony with Nature Network. He was a keynote speaker at the Eleventh Interactive Dialogue of the UN General Assembly in New York. In 2022, he served as a Special Rapporteur for the International Academy of Comparative Law in Paraguay.
In 2017, Dr. Subin was one of fifteen global candidates selected to present his doctoral research at the University of Oslo?s Postgraduate Colloquium on International Environmental Law.
