Dr. Tegil J John is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Studies, Political Science, and History since January 2024. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. Dr. Tegil completed a postdoctoral fellowship at IIT-Delhi in collaboration with Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands, in 2018-19.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, Dr. Tegil has worked with various research organizations including the Centre for Public Policy Research, Kochi, Lokniti, Delhi, and Janaagraha, Bangalore. He has conducted large-scale opinion surveys in India on topics like Elections, Democracy, Governance, and Education.
Dr. Tegil has presented papers at international and national conferences and published his work in journals and edited books. He is part of the Lokniti Network and served as Karnataka co-coordinator for studies on elections and democracy. He is also a resource person for Lokniti?s Annual Summer School on Quantitative Data Analysis.
His research interests include Education, Governance, Civil Society, and Public Policy.
