The Poet’s Society, in collaboration with Yuva Natya Manch (YNM), is pleased to present Poetical Theatrics, featuring the theatrical performance titled “Karam Dand”. Scheduled for 27th April 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Central Block Auditorium, this event aims to bring alive the historic epic Padmavat through a powerful, dramatic enactment. The performance vividly portrays the themes of honor, sacrifice, resilience, and feminine dignity that defined medieval Indian society. Additionally, special emphasis has been given to the legendary act of Johar as the ultimate expression of self-respect and defiance.
Adopting a contemporary feminist perspective, the play seeks to foster greater awareness of India’s rich cultural and historical heritage while encouraging critical reflection on historical consciousness. Through this experiential learning platform, the event aspires to create meaningful dialogue among students, faculty, staff, and Ashiana members, thereby promoting institutional cohesion and a deeper appreciation of our shared legacy.
