The Department of English and Cultural Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, continues its commitment to preserving India’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage through language data creation and validation. The seventh edition of the ‘Bhashadaan’ initiative, organized in collaboration with the Centre for Social Action, will engage students from Classes 8th, 9th, and 10th of Dasve Public School, Lavasa, in efforts to promote and preserve Indian languages.

The event will be conducted on 1st May 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Smart Room, Central Block. A group of MA EDH student volunteers will assist in coordinating the activities and spreading awareness by encouraging active participation from school students. They will guide participants and emphasize how young learners can contribute meaningfully to preserving linguistic diversity.

This initiative reinforces the Department’s mission to highlight the importance of language diversity and celebrate India’s linguistic traditions. Bhashadaan invites students to be part of a meaningful movement dedicated to safeguarding the country’s unique linguistic legacy for future generations.
