The School of Law is pleased to organise a Workshop on Nudge Theory: Influencing Behaviour for Better Decisions at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The session will be conducted by Dr. Savita Kulkarni, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Centre for Behavioural Economics, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.
Rooted in behavioural economics and cognitive psychology, nudge theory examines how subtle changes in the way choices are presented can steer individuals toward better decisions, without restricting freedom or imposing mandates. Drawing on the foundational work of Nobel laureate Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein, the workshop will explore how default effects, social norms, and choice architecture shape everyday behaviour across domains such as public policy, healthcare, marketing, and organisational life.
Participants will engage with real-world applications of nudge theory through interactive case studies and hands-on exercises, gaining practical tools to design ethical interventions that improve decision-making outcomes.
