About the Event
The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler will be performed by our students on Sept 11, ’24, at 5 pm in the Central Audi, Lavasa- Pune.
The play has been called "probably the most important piece of theatre of the last decade." It has been performed in colleges in India and aboard, Off-Broadway, and professional performing spaces internationally.
The play is a process of reflection that the performing students have explored. It addresses the proverbial elephant in the womb, which we hesitate to talk about. It is the head buried in the sand that needs to look up. This play is about all of this and more.
This performance is the voice crying in the wilderness. Each monologue explores the oppression that is normalised in the human condition and from where the individual seeks to be seen and heard.
The play, a collaboration between SWO Theatre and CCHS (use full form), will be performed by an all-women cast and open to an all-women audience. We invite you to be there to celebrate our feisty students talk about stuff, of which they are usually asked to stay silent.
