World Red Cross Day

When & Where

Date & Time

8th May 2025, 8.30 am

 About the Event

The Centre for Counselling and Health Services (CCHS) will observe World Red Cross Day on May 8th, 2025, to honour the humanitarian values and lasting legacy of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Celebrated globally on the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant—the founder of the Red Cross—this day reminds us of the power of empathy, service, and collective care.
The Red Cross stands as a beacon of hope, providing aid in times of disaster, conflict, and crisis. In alignment with its mission, CCHS seeks to inspire students to embrace values of compassion, responsibility, and active contribution to community well-being.
As part of the observance, a Health Desk video featuring our university nurse and doctor will be released. The video addresses the youth of our university with essential tips on health and hygiene, covering topics such as personal care, hydration, mental well-being, rest, and everyday preventive habits.
In addition, notice boards in both the Central Block and Management Block will feature practical and visually engaging health and hygiene tips for students. These boards aim to serve as gentle daily reminders to prioritize self-care and healthy living, both on and off campus.
Through this initiative, CCHS hopes to encourage awareness, spark conversations, and promote a lifestyle rooted in wellness and compassion.
