Dr. Shivanand Tavali holds a bachelor?s and master?s degree from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He earned his doctorate in Kannada Literature from Kannada University, Hampi, specializing in folk songs.
He has 15 years of experience as a professor of Kannada. Dr. Tavali has also trained candidates for competitive exams as a Kannada Resource Person across Karnataka.
He has been a Resource Person at the Higher Education Academy, Dharwad. Dr. Tavali served as Sub Editor of Study Planner Monthly and as Honorary Editorial Advisor of Diksuchi Monthly.
He has held leadership roles, including Secretary of Dharwad Kannada Sahitya Parishad and General Secretary of Janapada Sahitya Parishad. He has authored several books, including Grammena Baduku and Kannada Vyakarana Darpana.
As an editor, he has overseen the publication of 23 works. Dr. Tavali is a regular columnist for Samyukta Karnataka.
He has been honored with several awards, including Yuva Barahagaaara and Sikshaka Ratna. Recently, he was awarded the Junior Fellowship Award by the Ministry of Culture for 2021-22.
