Creative writing allows students to explore their ideas, emotions, and experiences in meaningful and imaginative ways. To support this growth, the Department of English and Cultural Studies will be hosting an Author Appreciation Day Celebration Workshop on 10th December 2025 from 11AM to 1PM to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mulk Raj Anand. The event will take the time to acknowledge his contributions to social justice and human dignity—particularly his sensitive portrayal of women’s struggles.
The workshop will be led by the author Ms Sucharita Asane, a Sahitya Akademi Award Nominee, whose insights will offer students fresh perspectives on the writing journey. Her session will help encourage emerging writers to express themselves with clarity, confidence, and originality. Students will be engaged in creative writing exercises, including prompts on gender equality, encouraging them to think deeply about contemporary issues. The workshop aims to blend learning, reflection, and creative expression, inspiring students to continue nurturing their voices as writers.
