The Department of Statistics and Data Science, School of Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, is organizing a special co-teaching session on Introduction to Gender, Macroeconomy & Public Finance under the course Gender Economics (SCI306B-6L). This academic engagement gains international significance through the collaboration with Dr. Ashraf Pulikkamath, Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow at the International Inequalities Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK, bringing global research perspectives into the classroom. The session will critically examine how gender shapes macroeconomic outcomes, public finance decisions, labour markets, and inequality.
By integrating international research insights with local policy discussions, this initiative strengthens global academic linkages and exposes students to comparative perspectives on gender-responsive macroeconomic frameworks. Co-taught with Dr. Tiny S Palathara, Assistant Professor (Economics), the programme enhances research-oriented learning and reinforces the university’s commitment to globally engaged, policy-relevant economic education.
