The Maritime & Trade Law Committee, under the Student Bar Association, School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, is organizing a two-day Guest Lecture on Maritime & Trade Law on 5th–6th March 2026. The International maritime trade forms the backbone of the global economy. The Main Objective includes introducing fundamental principles of international trade and maritime law, enhancing understanding of the legal regimes governing shipping, ocean governance, and sustainable commerce, and Trade. Eminent speakers Prof. Dr. Sandeepa Bhat B (NUJS Kolkata) and Capt. Pankaj Kapoor (Managing Partner, Quadrant Legal; Ex-Member, NITI Aayog) will deliver specialized sessions titled “Contextualising International Trade Law” and “From Ship to Shelf: The Law Governing Everyday Trade”. These lectures are designed to raise students' awareness of the critical legal frameworks and opportunities that exist. This will significantly improve legal literacy and develop interdisciplinary perspectives connecting law, commerce, and environmental protection among 2nd and 3rd-year law students.
