The Department of Physical Education and Sports, in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), is delighted to announce the celebration of National Sports Day 2025 on 29 August 2025 at 5:00 PM in the Activity Hub, Central Block.
National Sports Day is observed every year to honor the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of India’s greatest sporting legends, whose extraordinary contributions to hockey brought global recognition to the nation. The day serves as a reminder of the power of sports in building character, fostering discipline, and nurturing unity among individuals and communities.
This year’s celebration will bring together students, faculty, and NCC cadets to reflect on the importance of fitness, teamwork, and resilience in everyday life. The event will feature interactive activities, motivational sessions, and tributes to sporting icons who continue to inspire excellence.
