The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) promotes intergenerational bonding as a vital element of social harmony and inclusive growth in India. It fosters interaction, respect, and mutual understanding between young people and the elderly through community engagement and awareness initiatives. We at Christ University, Lavasa Pune, are privileged to conduct this one-day intergenerational programme under the guidance of NISD, where our students will interact and build meaningful bonds with the senior residents of Ashiana Utsav. This initiative aims to bridge the generational gap, foster empathy, and promote shared learning between youth and elders. Through conversations, activities, and companionship, students will gain insight into the values, life experiences, and cultural heritage of senior citizens. Such interactions reinforce emotional well-being, social inclusion, and mutual respect, reflecting NISD’s vision of creating a compassionate and cohesive society.
