The Environmental Law and Animal Rights Committee under the Student Bar Association, School of Law, is organising a Dog Deworming Drive as part of its ongoing efforts to promote animal welfare and responsible community engagement.
Community dogs are especially vulnerable to parasitic infections, which not only affect their health but also pose potential public health concerns. This drive focuses on preventive care through supervised deworming, aiming to enhance the quality of life of stray animals while fostering awareness among students about humane coexistence with urban wildlife.
The initiative also provides students with an opportunity to participate directly in field-based social action, encouraging empathy, teamwork, and civic responsibility. By collaborating with animal welfare partners and mobilising student volunteers, the Committee seeks to build a sustainable model of campus-led animal care.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 15 (Life on Land), this drive reflects the institution’s commitment to service learning, environmental stewardship, and compassionate legal practice.
