Prof. Shampa I Dev began her career in law under Justice Sirpurkar. She worked extensively on writ petitions, civil suits, and family law matters. She earned a Master?s in Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence, excelling as a top performer. This achievement led to an invitation to teach in the same department, marking the start of her academic journey. Her teaching focuses on Legal Research Methodology and Jurisprudence. She has also taught Constitutional Law, Election Laws, Family Law, and Human Rights. Her research explores rights jurisprudence, emphasizing privacy, human rights, gender, environment, and disability rights. Her work applies philosophical tools to address interdisciplinary legal challenges. Prof. Shampa has led several funded projects, including studies on water rights and legal literacy. She managed initiatives supported by ICSSR and NCW, as well as seed-funded research on cultural protection. Her academic contributions include curriculum development, introducing undergraduate law specializations, and creating modules on critical thinking and civic responsibility. Through teaching and research, she fosters intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a nuanced understanding of law?s societal impact.
