About us

Amidst a growing global interconnection, it is crucial to comprehend and value many cultures, values, and legal frameworks in order to cultivate global citizenship and advance international collaboration. Considering this, Center for European Studies (CES), CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus under the office of International Affairs focuses on promoting and spreading European values, culture, language, legislation, technology, and innovation. This center will function as a central point for scholarly investigation, cultural interchange, and educational endeavours with the purpose of fostering connections between Europe and other regions of the globe.

 

Vision

Our goal is to establish ourselves as a prominent organisation dedicated to advancing European values, culture, and innovation. We aim to strengthen European Union ties across the globe by promoting mutual understanding via the exchange of education and research across fields and countries.

Mission

The mission of the Center for European Studies is to:
rnFoster cross-cultural exchange by spreading European principles, culture, and languages.
rnEnhance understanding and expertise in European laws, governance systems, and technology advancements through research and academic programme.

Objectives

  • Academic Collaboration: Promote international collaboration by establishing partnerships with European universities through the implementation of joint research initiatives, facilitating student exchanges, and encouraging faculty mobility programmes.
  • Capacity Building and Training: Offer training initiatives, workshops, and materials to facilitate the advancement and globalisation of higher education establishments, with an emphasis on adopting European exemplary approaches and techniques.
  • To provide study and research opportunities in India-Europe relations and disseminate knowledge generated within (short term programmes summer school, winter school, conference, workshops and faculty development programmes).
  • Prioritise experiential learning by highlighting possibilities such as internships, study abroad programmes, and fieldwork to equip students with hands-on skills and a broader understanding of the world.
