The upcoming event “Storytelling Performance” will be held with MA English with Digital Humanities students at Christ University, Lavasa. Conceived as an educational and creative platform, the performance invites students to bring folk stories, songs, or quips from their own communities and reimagine them through staged performance called theatrical stoytelling. The session will be facilitated by Dr. Sangeeta Jawla, whose five years of experience working with galleries and museums informs her interdisciplinary approach to folklore, performance, and material culture. In preparation, Dr. Jawla is guiding students to select and shape narratives from their communities, emphasizing embodiment, voice, and improvisation. Through this process, students will discover how community stories can transform into dynamic performances, bridging tradition with contemporary interpretation. The event will highlight the intersections of literature, folklore, and performance, creating a collaborative space where storytelling becomes both a mode of research and an act of cultural preservation.
