The Policy–Economics Dialogue Series, organized by the Department of Statistics and Data Science in collaboration with the Econovation Club, aims to create a vibrant platform for critical discussions on contemporary economic and policy issues. The inaugural session focuses on the theme “Reality of India’s Economic Growth,” questioning widely held narratives around rapid economic expansion. While India is often highlighted as a fast-growing economy, this session will examine whether such growth is inclusive, sustainable, and reflective of ground realities. Key issues such as inequality, employment, data reliability, and structural challenges will be explored in depth.The session will be delivered by Prof. Arun Kumar, Retired Professor of Economics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, known for his extensive work on the informal economy and public policy. This dialogue seeks to encourage critical thinking and meaningful engagement, bridging academic insights with real-world policy debates.
