Discover the Library, Unlock Your Potential
The Library & Information Center, in association with The Readers Club, organized an interactive Library Tour for newly admitted students under the theme “Discover the Library, Unlock Your Potential.” The programme was conducted from 10th to 13th August 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, for students from BBA, MBA, Commerce, Data Science, Psychology, and Law. The tour covered the Central Library and Management Library, with Mr. Santosh and the Readers Club team coordinating the programme.
The initiative was designed to introduce new students to the library environment and familiarize them with its diverse collections, facilities, services, and digital resources. Students were guided through various sections, including fiction, non-fiction, new arrivals, periodicals, reference resources, and digital collections. A demonstration of the library catalogue and e-resources helped students understand how to search, access, and locate relevant academic and recreational materials.
An engaging “My Reading Journey” activity encouraged students to share the books they have already read and identify books they would like to read in the future. This activity helped the Library & Information Center and Readers Club members understand students’ reading interests and preferences. The responses will also provide valuable recommendations for developing and strengthening the library’s collection. Through this initiative, the Library can better connect readers with books that match their interests and help students discover their next read.
The tour aimed to develop confident and independent library users, increase awareness and utilization of print and digital resources, and promote a strong reading culture on campus. It also encouraged students to actively participate in The Readers Club activities and become Reading Ambassadors, inspiring their peers to explore books and make effective use of library resources.
Overall, the Library Tour provided newly admitted students with a meaningful introduction to the library and encouraged them to make the library an integral part of their academic and personal learning journey.
