The Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) represent a rich and sophisticated intellectual tradition that has shaped philosophical, legal, political, and economic thought for centuries. Classical schools such as Mimamsa, Nyaya, Arthashastra, and Dharmashastra developed systematic frameworks for reasoning, governance, and interpretation that remain deeply relevant in contemporary discourse.

Modern legal and governance systems in India, however, have largely evolved through Western frameworks of jurisprudence and institutional design. This has created a disconnect between indigenous intellectual traditions and present-day academic and policy engagement. There is a growing need to revisit and reintegrate these civilizational foundations into contemporary legal education and governance discourse.

This international conference seeks to bridge this gap by creating a platform for critical engagement with Indian knowledge traditions and their application to law, political theory, and economics. It aims to explore how indigenous frameworks can complement modern doctrines in enhancing interpretive clarity, institutional ethics, and policy innovation.

Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, the conference promotes interdisciplinary dialogue, research-based engagement, and the revival of indigenous knowledge systems in higher education.
