The Department of Statistics & Data Science, School of Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, is organising a session under The Economics Research Series titled “From Curiosity to Contribution – A Logical Pathway” on 30 September 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The session will be led by Dr Crystal David John, Former Head & Associate Professor in Economics, Stella Maris College, Chennai. It is designed to provide students with a structured understanding of the research process and help them navigate the journey from an initial research curiosity to a meaningful academic contribution. The session will particularly support students enrolled in ECO405-7L Research Methods in Economics and ECO406-7L Research Writing, as well as students undertaking dissertations and those interested in research across disciplines. The discussion will focus on how students can develop a research idea systematically by connecting curiosity, research questions, conceptual understanding, methodology, evidence and academic writing. The session will also highlight the importance of logical reasoning and clarity in developing a research problem and building a meaningful research contribution.
