Tribal Perspectives: An Exploratory Institute Visit
Organized by the Department of English & Cultural Studies, Tribal Perspectives: An Exploratory Institute Visit is an immersive experiential learning initiative taking place on October 2, 2026. Designed to bridge classroom theory with critical practical insights, this enriching academic trip invites students to explore indigenous heritage, historical artifacts, and policy research firsthand at the renowned Tribal Research & Training Institute (TRTI) in Pune, Maharashtra. The journey begins with a faculty-led orientation briefing outlining core observation goals. Participants will then engage in a guided walkthrough of the Tribal Museum, closely examining authentic indigenous tools, traditional attire, artwork, and living structures. Following the museum tour, students will explore TRTI’s specialized library resources, accessing policy archives, research publications, and literature on tribal welfare. The visit concludes with an interactive debriefing session where participants analyze key takeaways and map their field observations directly to core cultural studies concepts.
