The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, in collaboration with the Internship Committee and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., will host a two-day workshop, “From Classroom to Courtroom 2.0: Hands-on Training on Arbitration,” on 28 and 29 October 2026 at the Auditorium, Central Block. Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice, the workshop will be led by Mr Siddhartha Datta, Partner-in-Charge of the Kolkata office of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, who brings extensive experience in domestic and international arbitration.
On 28 October, separate sessions for fifth-year and fourth-year students will introduce the law, practice and recent developments in arbitration, including the fundamentals, procedure and legal framework governing arbitration in India and abroad. On 29 October, a four-hour hands-on session will give students practical training in drafting arbitration clauses and conducting arbitral proceedings through simulated mock arbitration.
The workshop aims to strengthen students’ advocacy, drafting and analytical skills, complementing the skill development course on arbitration and dispute resolution. It supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting experiential learning and access to justice through peaceful dispute resolution.
