The Student Council at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune, Lavasa campus, is composed of selected representatives across all the programmes offered, to imbibe and inculcate the Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Graduate Attributes of the University through various activities and proceedings, ensuring broad representation and diversity. The Council is the voice of the student community, serving as a bridge between students and the management — a catalyst for progress, coordinating initiatives and representing the diverse interests and concerns of the student population.
To cater to its various functions, the Council has constituted several committees — the Bus Committee, Food Quality Committee, Campus Maintenance Committee, Documentation Committee, Events Committee, and Website & Social Media Committee. Together they organise Orientation Sessions, Acclimatization and Induction Programmes, regular meetings to discuss shortcomings and concerns, meetings with the Director, Fresher's Week, Open Forums, Holi Celebrations, Daksh, Teachers' Day, Gratitude Week, inspections, and collaborations with departments and other centres — fostering a vibrant campus culture and a genuine sense of belonging.

Student Council Services
Five ongoing services keep the Council in direct, regular contact with student life on campus.
Service
Bus Service The Student Transportation Committee plans and manages daily, special, examination, and weekend bus services based on student requirements, academic schedules, demand, and operational feasibility — collecting student feedback, updating schedules, managing registrations and seat allocation, ensuring timely departures and communication, and maintaining travel and attendance records. Transportation for industrial visits and intercollegiate events is arranged separately by the respective Faculty Coordinators.Service
Open Forum A safe and constructive platform for students to voice concerns, suggestions, and opinions — one of the Council's best practices. It facilitates transparent communication between students and the University administration, and supports the timely identification and resolution of concerns related to academics, facilities, student welfare, and campus life.Service
Monthly Meetings Regular monthly meetings to discuss student concerns, departmental requirements, upcoming activities, and initiatives for campus development — promoting collaborative planning, effective communication, and collective decision-making among Council members.Service
Meeting with Director The Council represents student concerns and provides updates on ongoing initiatives through regular meetings with the Director and other relevant authorities — strengthening communication between the student body and the administration.Service

Holi Celebrations
Holi is celebrated on campus as a vibrant expression of cultural diversity, inclusivity, and community spirit. Through music, colours, and enthusiastic student participation, the celebration brings together the campus community in an atmosphere of joy, belonging, and cultural appreciation.

Gratitude Week Celebration
Gratitude Week is organised to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of faculty, non-faculty, and management members to the growth and development of students. Through cultural programmes, games, speeches, and other expressions of appreciation, students celebrate those who contribute to their academic and personal journeys.

Teachers' Day Celebration
Teachers' Day is celebrated to recognize and appreciate the dedication and invaluable contributions of educators. Organised by the Student Council, the celebration includes cultural performances, speeches, and expressions of gratitude, giving students the opportunity to acknowledge the role teachers play in their development.

DAKSH — The Educational Fair
DAKSH is an annual educational and career guidance fair designed to help school and college students explore higher education opportunities and make informed academic and career decisions, with exposure to diverse programmes, institutions, and career pathways.

Winter Fair
A vibrant seasonal celebration that brings together students, faculty, families, and guests for an evening of festivity, creativity, and community engagement — student-run stalls offering food, crafts, games and handmade products, a traditional bonfire, live music, open mic performances, and recreational activities, as the campus community comes together to conclude the year.

Student Council Valedictory Ceremony
The academic year closes with the Council's own Valedictory Ceremony — reflections from outgoing Student Council members, the Director's address, the Coordinator's address, and a vote of thanks, before the whole Council gathers for a group photograph. See more in the photo gallery below.
How It's Organised
Structure of the Student Council
The Student Council is constituted by representatives selected from all the UG and PG Programmes of the University, and is organized at two distinct levels.
Institutional Level (University Level)
Includes representatives from each department, along with one representative each from SWO, CSA, NCC, Peer Education, CAPS, International Students, Cultural Team, the Department of Physical Education, and Students' Residence Halls. These members are nominated by the respective coordinators of the centres or offices.
Deanery Level
Functions as a supporting body under each Deanery, and consists of one or two representatives from every class within the respective Deanery — ensuring departmental-level representation and coordination.
