TESTIMONIALS

Varghese Anto, Stage and technical Team
Being a part of the StudentWelfare Office has been one of the most defining chapters of my journey at Christ (Deemed to be) University, Pune Lavasa Campus. What started as just a curiosity to contribute beyond the classroom soon turned into a deep sense of belonging. SWO became the place where I discovered my voice, challenged my limits, and grew not only as a student but as a leader. Every event, every brainstorming session, every late-night planning meeting taught me the value of teamwork, accountability, and empathy. It wasn’t just about organizing or executing, it was about learning how to uplift others while evolving myself. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most passionate and driven individuals, and in doing so, I’ve come to truly understand what it means to lead with purpose. SWO stands for opportunity, growth, and the quiet strength of community. It has shaped me into someone who doesn’t just strive for excellence, but someone who brings others along in that journey.

When I first thought of joining SWO, I knew it wasn’t just about becoming a part of a centre. It was about entering a space where people connect, grow, and support each other like a family. I joined with a passion for photography and videography, but over time, I developed a strong interest in editing and graphic designing too. The media does demand a lot of effort, but not once did it feel like a burden. Whether it’s planning content, covering events, or working late nights, we always found joy in the process. Before joining, I had very limited technical knowledge as I didn’t know much about professional cameras, lighting, or framing. But through constant hands-on learning and support from my leads, I’ve gained so much. Today, I can confidently handle shoots, understand creative angles, and contribute to multiple aspects of media production. The improvement in my work over the past year feels truly rewarding. Looking back, I feel proud of how far I’ve come not just in terms of skill, but in confidence and connection. The Student Welfare Office gave me more than just a role, it gave me a journey filled with growth, learning, and genuine joy.

I joined SWO in my first year with one clear goal, to keep dancing. I was new to the place, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, and looking for something that felt like mine. What I didn’t expect was for this space to completely reshape how I saw myself, others, and the very meaning of belonging. What began as a passion project quickly evolved into a defining journey. From a hesitant performer to now leading the Dance Committee, the path hasn’t been linear but it’s been transformative. SWO pushed me to take up space, trust my instincts, and stand firm in what I believe in. It taught me not just how to grow, but how to grow with others, to lead with intention, to collaborate with care, and to learn from every high and low. But beyond all that, SWO gave me people, the kind you meet once and keep for life. Friends who became family. Teammates who became pillars. These are the people I’ve laughed, failed, fought, and created with and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Today, as the Head of Dance, I carry forward everything this journey has taught me: how to lead with confidence, how to build something bigger than yourself, and how to create spaces that empower others the way I was empowered. SWO shaped me not just as a dancer or a leader, but as a person. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.

SWO isn’t just a university center for me; it’s where I found myself. Without it, I feel like I have no identity, because it gave me my name, my place, and my people. From starting out as one of just 5-6 volunteers in my first year to now being part of a 30+ volunteer team, the growth has been significant. Being called the “Glue that holds the family together” is more than a title. It’s a reflection of a journey filled with love, effort, and unbreakable bonds. From a silent volunteer to a Sub-Head and now Head of Heads (HOH), it’s been a roller coaster of learning, connection, and unforgettable memories. These moments, these people will stay with me, always. Many More to Come!

Joining SWO marked a turning point in my life, an experience that reshaped how I see myself and the people around me. I entered as a passionate member of the dance team, simply excited to perform and be involved. What I didn’t expect was the deep connection I’d form with the people, the purpose, and the spirit of this incredible community. From the start, SWO offered more than just a platform, it gave me a place where I was welcomed for who I was and encouraged to grow into who I could be. Over the years, what began as a creative outlet gradually became a powerful journey of leadership and learning. Now, in my role as the Head of Heads, I reflect on how far I’ve come, and how much this organization has given me in return. SWO isn’t just an extracurricular space; it’s a living, breathing community built on trust, collaboration, and shared enthusiasm. Every member matters, every effort is acknowledged, and every idea is given room to bloom. It has become a space where I’ve not only evolved as a leader, but also found a family that celebrates each other’s strengths and lifts one another through challenges. What makes this experience truly fulfilling is knowing that I’m part of something bigger than myself, something that constantly drives positive change and brings people together with purpose and passion. Here, I’ve not just grown, I’ve flourished, and it’s an honour to help lead this journey forward.

Being a part of the SWO family has truly transformed my life. From the moment I joined, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging and acceptance, as if I’d finally found my home. SWO doesn’t just provide a space to grow, it inspires you to become more complete, bringing out the best in you both personally and professionally. What makes SWO so special is the way it connects each of us to something greater than ourselves. It’s more than an organization; it’s a vibrant community where every voice matters and every contribution is valued. Knowing I am part of this larger purpose gives me immense pride, motivation, and joy. Here, I don’t just participate, I thrive, because I am surrounded by people who truly care, support one another, and passionately work toward a common goal. Being a member of SWO reminds me every day that I’m not alone, I’m part of something bigger, and together, we make a real difference.

When I joined SWO, I had no idea it'd have such an impact on my personality. Now I realise all those stage setups and crowd management, how it transformed everything. Being in SWO, I learned to work with people who are not on the same page. I'm very thankful to the faculty coordinators for always trusting me with everything. If I'm here in SWO for the last 4 years, it's only because of Ajay (the former head of heads), I'll always miss SWO. These 4 years were best, I gave it my all and it was all worth it.

I Joined SWO in October 2021. The journey that began as a volunteer is now ending with me being one of the heads of this organisation. SWO has always been very close to my heart; it gave me the opportunity and platform to showcase my talents and a family of my own. There were moments of challenges, sleepless nights, and tough decisions, but each one strengthened my resolve and deepened my love for what we do. Being trusted with the responsibility of leadership was both an honour and a learning curve, and I am grateful for every single person who walked this journey with me. As I step down from this role, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and pride. Though my official tenure ends, SWO will always remain a part of me. I’m excited to watch it grow even further in the hands of passionate and capable individuals who will carry the torch forward. Thank you, SWO, for everything. This may be the end of a chapter, but the story we’ve written together will stay with me forever.

As I pen this message for the final time as a member and now as the SC Representative, my heart is overwhelmed with emotion. What began as a small step into college life as a dance volunteer in my first year blossomed into a transformative journey across countless committees, culminating in the immense honour of leading the entire student body in my final year. Each stage of this journey with the Student Welfare Office has given me more than just responsibilities. It gave me purpose. It gave me a family. From late-night planning sessions and endless meetings to spontaneous laughter and unforgettable moments on stage and off it has all been nothing short of magical. The Student Welfare Office has been my second home, a space where I found belonging, where my ideas were heard, and where I was constantly encouraged to grow not just as a student, but as a human being. The mentors who guided me, the peers who stood beside me, and the juniors who looked up to us all of you have etched a permanent place in my heart. As I now prepare to pass the torch, I carry with me the legacy of service, joy, and unity that defines SWO. To the upcoming leaders, embrace every moment, take every opportunity, and never forget the impact you can make. This office will give you memories that will stay long after college ends. With teary eyes and a full heart, I say goodbye not to the people or the place, but to a chapter that has shaped the very core of who I am. Thank you, SWO. Thank you for everything.

SWO is more than just a Committee to me; it's a sanctuary where I found my true self. From the uncertainty of my first year to becoming a sub-head of the Art and Creative Committee, this journey has been a whirlwind of emotions, challenges, and triumphs. Every moment, every struggle, and every triumph has been worth it. SWO gave me a sense of belonging, a place where I could be myself without fear of judgment. As a volunteer and sub-head, I've discovered my voice, my passion, and my purpose. I've formed unbreakable bonds with individuals who have become my family. I'm eternally grateful for this journey, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. SWO has been my haven, my creative outlet, and my path to self-discovery. It's a place where I've grown, learned, and thrived, and I'll always cherish the memories and experiences I've had here. So Thank You SWO!

The last 4 years in SWO have been nothing but an exceptional journey. For me, it has always been an escape from everything else. I have made some amazing bonds here, with my juniors, seniors, and fellow mates. I have learnt so many things and qualities which I never thought I was capable of learning. Completing tasks within given timelines with all the pressure and chaos and still managing to have fun through it all will be the highlight of my time in SWO. It has shaped my personality in ways I cannot explain! SWO will always have a special place in my heart

At the end of my tenure, I can confidently say that this is one of the only student-run organisations I’ve worked with that has given me the platform, support, and resources to wake up and do what I love every day. I had the time of my life (while fighting for my life), working with some of the most brilliant personalities this campus has ever seen. At the end of the year, after all those meetings and all those events, with a heart devoid of regret, I can say without hesitation that I would do it all over again.
