BBA (Business Analytics) - Batch 2022

The Bachelor's program in Business Administration (BBA) at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa provides the right ambience to enable students in pursuing entrepreneurial ambitions and perform managerial roles as business Consultants and Analysts in an array of industries. The BBA Programme is spread over six semesters comprising majorly of core courses in Commerce embedded with Analytical Courses like Entrepreneurial Development and Organizational Behavior embedded with courses including Introduction to Business Analytics, Data Visualization Software and Basics of R programming. Discipline-specific mandatory courses in the form of Applied Excel, Business Intelligence and Data Mining are geared towards the analysis of business data. Inter-disciplinary open electives, skill enhancement certificate programs certified by Moody’s Analytics, projects and internships are certain other unique features of the program. The program strives to develop students’ independent thinking, capability for decision-making and research aptitude.

 

Each year, the CHRIST(Deemed to be University) Commerce and Management Association strives to provide vibrant avenues for students to shape their future by enriching knowledge, enhancing competence, imparting life skills and internalizing values through a plethora of competitions living up to its vision of ‘Compete, Collaborate and Create’.
The association organizes different activities every Wednesday and Friday. Events exclusively in the areas of Entrepreneurship Development, Public Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quiz and Best Manager are conducted. Preliminary rounds are held at the class level following which the best teams are selected for the semi-finals and finals, which happen on stage in front of a massive audience.

IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.

Workshops/Guest Lecture/Conference

Mr. Dr Dinesh Babu R, Managing Director, Brainswig Pvt. Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

- A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. Ms Sinthuja briefly discussed matters pertaining to interview skills, time management, customer relations management, stress management, presentation and motivational skills, positive thinking and customer handling along with communication skills. In all it was a very fruitful session and the students found it quite informative and interactive.

 

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. It provided a platform to a wide spectrum of people to showcase knowledge in areas of interest. They also got a chance to network and interact with scholars from industry and academics. The added benefit included hands-on experience on analytics by eminent practitioners from the industry and above all an opportunity to publish research work in Scopus Indexed Journal.

ADMISSIONS FOR BBA BUSINESS ANALYTICS IS OPEN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022

The School of Business and Management (BBA), Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Pune campus organized a one-week leadership program from 27th September to 3rd October 2021. 
Dr. Amalesh Bhowal, Professor, Assam University, Dr. Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Adamas University, Kolkata and Mr. Rajesh Dhariya, CEO, APSS Media deliberated on the topic “Sailing smoothly in new normal: Leadership challenges” under the moderation of Dr. Parameswaran S, Program Coordinator of the BBA (Business Analytics). Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

The aim and objective of these certificate courses were to make the children familiar with the industry related concepts and skills. With each course provider there were different trainers for the different subjects that were taught. The duration of the courses was one week and a total of 16 hours and 15 mins were covered in the week. Students gained practical knowledge on different courses and the concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

Project-based learning
Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. These projects enable them to understand the finer aspects and relevance of teamwork and also the importance of working in a group. In addition to this faculty use different methodologies to keep the class engaged and facilitate experiential learning through role-plays, case studies, group discussions, flipped class etc.

Continuous Evaluation
Students are evaluated continually on various parameters to monitor their progress throughout a semester. This evaluation consists of a mix of activities which include written assignments, quizzes, presentations etc.

Students are given the opportunity to interact with eminent guests from the industry on a regular basis. These guests have vast experience in the industry and their inputs will add immense value to the students in shaping their career dreams.

The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.

Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

- A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. Ms Sinthuja briefly discussed matters pertaining to interview skills, time management, customer relations management, stress management, presentation and motivational skills, positive thinking and customer handling along with communication skills. In all it was a very fruitful session and the students found it quite informative and interactive.

 

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

ADMISSIONS FOR BBA BUSINESS ANALYTICS IS OPEN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022

The School of Business and Management (BBA), Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Pune campus organized a one-week leadership program from 27th September to 3rd October 2021. 
Dr. Amalesh Bhowal, Professor, Assam University, Dr. Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Adamas University, Kolkata and Mr. Rajesh Dhariya, CEO, APSS Media deliberated on the topic “Sailing smoothly in new normal: Leadership challenges” under the moderation of Dr. Parameswaran S, Program Coordinator of the BBA (Business Analytics). Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

The aim and objective of these certificate courses were to make the children familiar with the industry related concepts and skills. With each course provider there were different trainers for the different subjects that were taught. The duration of the courses was one week and a total of 16 hours and 15 mins were covered in the week. Students gained practical knowledge on different courses and the concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

Project-based learning
Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. These projects enable them to understand the finer aspects and relevance of teamwork and also the importance of working in a group. In addition to this faculty use different methodologies to keep the class engaged and facilitate experiential learning through role-plays, case studies, group discussions, flipped class etc.

Continuous Evaluation
Students are evaluated continually on various parameters to monitor their progress throughout a semester. This evaluation consists of a mix of activities which include written assignments, quizzes, presentations etc.

Guest Lecture
Students are given the opportunity to interact with eminent guests from the industry on a regular basis. These guests have vast experience in the industry and their inputs will add immense value to the students in shaping their career dreams.

The BBA Programme is spread over six semesters comprising majorly of core courses in Commerce embedded with Analytical Courses like Entrepreneurial Development and Organizational Behavior embedded with courses including Introduction to Business Analytics, Data Visualization Software and Basics of R programming. Discipline-specific mandatory courses in the form of Applied Excel, Business Intelligence and Data Mining are geared towards the analysis of business data. Inter-disciplinary open electives, skill enhancement certificate programs certified by Moody’s Analytics, projects and internships are certain other unique features of the program. The program strives to develop students’ independent thinking, capability for decision-making and research aptitude.

 

Each year, the CHRIST(Deemed to be University) Commerce and Management Association strives to provide vibrant avenues for students to shape their future by enriching knowledge, enhancing competence, imparting life skills and internalizing values through a plethora of competitions living up to its vision of ‘Compete, Collaborate and Create’.
The association organizes different activities every Wednesday and Friday. Events exclusively in the areas of Entrepreneurship Development, Public Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quiz and Best Manager are conducted. Preliminary rounds are held at the class level following which the best teams are selected for the semi-finals and finals, which happen on stage in front of a massive audience.

IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.

Mr. Dr Dinesh Babu R, Managing Director, Brainswig Pvt. Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

- A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. Ms Sinthuja briefly discussed matters pertaining to interview skills, time management, customer relations management, stress management, presentation and motivational skills, positive thinking and customer handling along with communication skills. In all it was a very fruitful session and the students found it quite informative and interactive.

 

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. It provided a platform to a wide spectrum of people to showcase knowledge in areas of interest. They also got a chance to network and interact with scholars from industry and academics. The added benefit included hands-on experience on analytics by eminent practitioners from the industry and above all an opportunity to publish research work in Scopus Indexed Journal.

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. It provided a platform to a wide spectrum of people to showcase knowledge in areas of interest. They also got a chance to network and interact with scholars from industry and academics. Dr. Amalesh Bhowal, Professor, Assam University, Dr. Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Adamas University, Kolkata and Mr. Rajesh Dhariya, CEO, APSS Media deliberated on the topic “Sailing smoothly in new normal: Leadership challenges” under the moderation of Dr. Parameswaran S, Program Coordinator of the BBA (Business Analytics). Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

The aim and objective of these certificate courses were to make the children familiar with the industry related concepts and skills. With each course provider there were different trainers for the different subjects that were taught. The duration of the courses was one week and a total of 16 hours and 15 mins were covered in the week. Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. These projects enable them to understand the finer aspects and relevance of teamwork and also the importance of working in a group. In addition to this faculty use different methodologies to keep the class engaged and facilitate experiential learning through role-plays, case studies, group discussions, flipped class etc.

The association organizes different activities every Wednesday and Friday. Events exclusively in the areas of Entrepreneurship Development, Public Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quiz and Best Manager are conducted. Preliminary rounds are held at the class level following which the best teams are selected for the semi-finals and finals, which happen on stage in front of a massive audience.

IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.

Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. - A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. ADMISSIONS FOR BBA BUSINESS ANALYTICS IS OPEN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022

Dr. Amalesh Bhowal, Professor, Assam University, Dr. Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Adamas University, Kolkata and Mr. Rajesh Dhariya, CEO, APSS Media deliberated on the topic “Sailing smoothly in new normal: Leadership challenges” under the moderation of Dr. Parameswaran S, Program Coordinator of the BBA (Business Analytics). Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. The application registration fee may be paid through Credit/Debit Card/Net banking facility (for online applicants only).
Choose the payment option and fill in the required details to process the “Application processing fee”. The application will be submitted online after payment of the application processing fee.
After the payment is successful you will receive the application number with the option to save your application form (if filling the application prior to the declaration of class XII result).
Candidates must submit the filled-in application forms along with the supporting documents (duly self-attested) within 3 days of the declaration of Maharashtra HSC/ISC/CBSE results in-person/ Parents / Guardian. The association organizes different activities every Wednesday and Friday. IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. Basic eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Maharashtra HSC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India.

  • Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.
  • Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
  • Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
  • Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels grade not less than C.

The BBA Programme is spread over six semesters comprising majorly of core courses in Commerce embedded with Analytical Courses like Entrepreneurial Development and Organizational Behavior embedded with courses including Introduction to Business Analytics, Data Visualization Software and Basics of R programming. Discipline-specific mandatory courses in the form of Applied Excel, Business Intelligence and Data Mining are geared towards the analysis of business data. Inter-disciplinary open electives, skill enhancement certificate programs certified by Moody’s Analytics, projects and internships are certain other unique features of the program. The program strives to develop students’ independent thinking, capability for decision-making and research aptitude.

 

Each year, the CHRIST(Deemed to be University) Commerce and Management Association strives to provide vibrant avenues for students to shape their future by enriching knowledge, enhancing competence, imparting life skills and internalizing values through a plethora of competitions living up to its vision of ‘Compete, Collaborate and Create’.
The association organizes different activities every Wednesday and Friday. Events exclusively in the areas of Entrepreneurship Development, Public Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quiz and Best Manager are conducted. Preliminary rounds are held at the class level following which the best teams are selected for the semi-finals and finals, which happen on stage in front of a massive audience.

IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.

Workshops/Guest Lecture/Conference

Mr. Dr Dinesh Babu R, Managing Director, Brainswig Pvt. Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

- A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. Ms Sinthuja briefly discussed matters pertaining to interview skills, time management, customer relations management, stress management, presentation and motivational skills, positive thinking and customer handling along with communication skills. In all it was a very fruitful session and the students found it quite informative and interactive.

 

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. It provided a platform to a wide spectrum of people to showcase knowledge in areas of interest. They also got a chance to network and interact with scholars from industry and academics. The added benefit included hands-on experience on analytics by eminent practitioners from the industry and above all an opportunity to publish research work in Scopus Indexed Journal.

ADMISSIONS FOR BBA BUSINESS ANALYTICS IS OPEN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022

The School of Business and Management (BBA), Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Pune campus organized a one-week leadership program from 27th September to 3rd October 2021. 
Dr. Amalesh Bhowal, Professor, Assam University, Dr. Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Adamas University, Kolkata and Mr. Rajesh Dhariya, CEO, APSS Media deliberated on the topic “Sailing smoothly in new normal: Leadership challenges” under the moderation of Dr. Parameswaran S, Program Coordinator of the BBA (Business Analytics). Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

The aim and objective of these certificate courses were to make the children familiar with the industry related concepts and skills. With each course provider there were different trainers for the different subjects that were taught. The duration of the courses was one week and a total of 16 hours and 15 mins were covered in the week. Students gained practical knowledge on different courses and the concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

Project-based learning
Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. These projects enable them to understand the finer aspects and relevance of teamwork and also the importance of working in a group. In addition to this faculty use different methodologies to keep the class engaged and facilitate experiential learning through role-plays, case studies, group discussions, flipped class etc.

Continuous Evaluation
Students are evaluated continually on various parameters to monitor their progress throughout a semester. This evaluation consists of a mix of activities which include written assignments, quizzes, presentations etc.

Students are given the opportunity to interact with eminent guests from the industry on a regular basis. These guests have vast experience in the industry and their inputs will add immense value to the students in shaping their career dreams.

2. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the programme for candidates who;

  • Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.

3. To claim Indian category fee, the candidates should have studied last 7 years in India. (Not applicable for OCI, PIO, and Foreign Nationals).

4. Admission registration fee of INR 5000/- is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if any applicable.

Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure.   5. One Stamp size and One passport size photograph formal dress with white background (Mandatory).  
  6. Two Copies of the Online Payment Receipt (Mandatory).

  8. Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process. An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing/passing their exam in March – June 2022], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before July 15, 2022. Failure to submit the pending documents will be treated as unsuccessful in the qualifying examination or considered “Not Eligible” and admission will be terminated from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) without any claim.

All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Branch as part of the admission process and must carry relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card). The University ID card is a smart card, which is both an ID cum ATM card with a chip containing the student personal details. All transactions within the University campus after the commencement of classes, including fee payment will be processed only through this card. It is also an access card for Library and other restricted places.

Selected candidates who fall under the International student category (ISC) should register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO / FRO) of the Local Police in Bengaluru, India within 14 working days from the date of admission or arriving in Bengaluru.

The date of commencement of the academic Year 2022 - 2023 will be intimated during the admission process.

IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.

Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

- A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. Ms Sinthuja briefly discussed matters pertaining to interview skills, time management, customer relations management, stress management, presentation and motivational skills, positive thinking and customer handling along with communication skills. In all it was a very fruitful session and the students found it quite informative and interactive.

 

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. Selection for the programme will be based on the performance in class XII.  After processing the Application forms of candidates whose supporting documents are submitted to the office within 3 days of the declaration of the class XII result (Maharashtra HSC/ISC/CBSE), the cut-off percentage will be declared and displayed on the University notice board/University website. No postal/telephonic/e-mail communication will be given from the University. Other Boards whose results may be declared after the above-mentioned Boards will be considered subject to the availability of seats. The University does not authorize any individual or organization to operate on its behalf.

Mr. Dr Dinesh Babu R, Managing Director, Brainswig Pvt. Ltd, Chennai conducted a workshop on 'Business Analytics With R Language - An Application Oriented Training’ at Central Block, Computer Lab from 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM which was organized by the Commerce and Management Department, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The workshop had more than 50 participants comprising of student and faculty members from the commerce department that gave them an insight into using various programming tools for Analytics.

The department has conducted various webinars related to upcoming fields in Commerce and Management to provide information to students and faculty on relevant topics. A webinar was conducted on How SEBI Regulates the Securities Markets by Mr PK Nagpal, Executive Director, SEBI and on "GST and its recent developments"by Mr. Mihir who is an expert in the field of Indirect Tax Laws.

The department is very keen on inviting industrial experts to deliver lectures for students in the area of expertise to have an industry connect.
A guest lecture was organized on "Application of analytics in various fields and the job opportunities in analytics" on 18th October 2019 in the Auditorium, Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa by Mr. Shashank Lalwani for BCOM (FINANCIAL ANALYTICS) and BBA (BUSINESS ANALYTICS) students.The interactive session commenced with the introduction to Data and Business wherein the students were asked the basic definition of “Business”, which according to him is nothing but applying common sense. In the next few hours, the guest had grabbed the attention of the students by conveying the innovative opportunities that are available right before them in today’s world.He had also explained about the purchase behavior in any online retail shop andanalysing the customer profile
Dr. Azarudheen S from Department of Statistics, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru gave a lecture on 12th October 2019 on probability, its distribution and real-life applications. It was attended by BBA students in the Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. At the outset Dr. Azarudheen explained various types of analytics in great detail. He was mindful enough to keep the concept simple so that it was clearly understood by young BBA students. Next he moved on to throw light upon the usage of probability in business world. The concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

- A guest lecture was organized on 13th November 2019 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa by Ms Sinthuja Martin about the importance of soft skills and a short training session on soft skills was also conducted for BBA and B Com students. The entire training session on soft skills dealt with a wide variety of topics such as vocal and verbal communication with specific reference to corporate communication. She asserted that the most appropriate body language for leadership can have an indelible impact on the customers. Ms Sinthuja briefly discussed matters pertaining to interview skills, time management, customer relations management, stress management, presentation and motivational skills, positive thinking and customer handling along with communication skills. In all it was a very fruitful session and the students found it quite informative and interactive.

 

R PROGRAMMING’20 A two-day National Conference on Application of Analytics in Business Re-engineering was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies on 6th March 2020 and 7th March 2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. The conference aimed at integrating analytics into the business world. The sole objectives of the conference were to offer an insightful review of tools and techniques related to business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners. These business applications will help recreate and reengineer business for optimum results. It also aimed to provide a platform for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from around the world by facilitating dissemination of knowledge on business analytics, big data and business intelligence. After the formal function an array of panellists from diverse fields took part in a high level panel discussion on `'Analytics Landscape - 2025’ at Central Block, Auditorium from 11.50 AM to 1.30 PM. The Moderator was Dr Geetha M Rajaram, Principal, Global Institute of Management Science, Bengaluru. The well-coordinated venture by Department of Commerce and Management Studies saw participation on a large scale. The conference was attended by educationists, academicians, faculty members, research scholars, post-doctoral / doctorate/ graduates, industry managers, administrators, business professionals, practitioners or consultants. It provided a platform to a wide spectrum of people to showcase knowledge in areas of interest. They also got a chance to network and interact with scholars from industry and academics. The added benefit included hands-on experience on analytics by eminent practitioners from the industry and above all an opportunity to publish research work in Scopus Indexed Journal.

ADMISSIONS FOR BBA BUSINESS ANALYTICS IS OPEN FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022

The School of Business and Management (BBA), Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, Pune campus organized a one-week leadership program from 27th September to 3rd October 2021. 
Dr. Amalesh Bhowal, Professor, Assam University, Dr. Naveen Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Adamas University, Kolkata and Mr. Rajesh Dhariya, CEO, APSS Media deliberated on the topic “Sailing smoothly in new normal: Leadership challenges” under the moderation of Dr. Parameswaran S, Program Coordinator of the BBA (Business Analytics). Panellists shared difficulties and challenges faced in the academic and the corporate forefront during the pandemic time. Panellist also highlighted role of virtual leadership as virtual work has grown in popularity and collaboration through regular communication, transparency, and accountability. These sessions during the leadership week were extremely insightful, knowledgeable and of great help to all the participants who attended the program.
A Digital marketing workshop was conducted on 23rd November 2022, 3rd, 9th and 10th December 2022. Prof. Jayanta Chakraborti is an expert in Digital Marketing, Fintech and Business Analytics. The Digital Marketing Workshop was organized by the university to provide students with expert, industrial and practical knowledge on the subject. The concepts of remarketing and retargeting, web analysis and data collection, customer lifetime value, various pricing and payment techniques along with the ecommerce distribution channel, the technique of marketing a company through sponsored adverts that show up on search engine results pages is known as search engine marketing. Advertisers place bids on terms that customers of search engines like Google and Bing would use when looking for specific goods or services, giving them the chance for their adverts to show up alongside search results for those keywords. The tools and techniques required to draw the consumer engagement was also taught. Creating a web store, web hosting was also taught. Businesses and marketers can use services to connect with billions of people who are using Google Search to find answers, watch videos on YouTube, discover new places on Google Maps, download apps from Google Play, and browse content on the web. Students learned how the new Google Ads brand makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to choose the best solutions for their needs, creating valuable, dependable advertisements and providing the best customer experiences. The session was fruitful. Students learnt about the different aspects of the digital marketing that can be applicable in the real world. Through this workshops, they gained theoretical as well as the practical knowledge of different concepts of digital marketing like ad word, SEO, SEM, digital marketing funnel, and traffic pulls. This workshop was very resourceful for the future endeavours of the students.
PRAYAAG was a certificate course BBA-BA 1st and 2nd year students. The courses started from 17th Jan and went on till 21st Jan 2023. We had 2 different course providers this time, namely :-

The aim and objective of these certificate courses were to make the children familiar with the industry related concepts and skills. With each course provider there were different trainers for the different subjects that were taught. The duration of the courses was one week and a total of 16 hours and 15 mins were covered in the week. Students gained practical knowledge on different courses and the concept was quite interesting as it catered to the present day trend in the volatile world of business.

Project-based learning
Students take up projects from the second semester onwards, which helps to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. These projects enable them to understand the finer aspects and relevance of teamwork and also the importance of working in a group. In addition to this faculty use different methodologies to keep the class engaged and facilitate experiential learning through role-plays, case studies, group discussions, flipped class etc.

Continuous Evaluation
Students are evaluated continually on various parameters to monitor their progress throughout a semester. This evaluation consists of a mix of activities which include written assignments, quizzes, presentations etc.

Students are given the opportunity to interact with eminent guests from the industry on a regular basis. These guests have vast experience in the industry and their inputs will add immense value to the students in shaping their career dreams.

The BBA Programme is spread over six semesters comprising majorly of core courses in Commerce embedded with Analytical Courses like Entrepreneurial Development and Organizational Behavior embedded with courses including Introduction to Business Analytics, Data Visualization Software and Basics of R programming. Discipline-specific mandatory courses in the form of Applied Excel, Business Intelligence and Data Mining are geared towards the analysis of business data. Inter-disciplinary open electives, skill enhancement certificate programs certified by Moody’s Analytics, projects and internships are certain other unique features of the program. The program strives to develop students’ independent thinking, capability for decision-making and research aptitude.

 

Each year, the CHRIST(Deemed to be University) Commerce and Management Association strives to provide vibrant avenues for students to shape their future by enriching knowledge, enhancing competence, imparting life skills and internalizing values through a plethora of competitions living up to its vision of ‘Compete, Collaborate and Create’.
The association organizes different activities every Wednesday and Friday. Events exclusively in the areas of Entrepreneurship Development, Public Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quiz and Best Manager are conducted. Preliminary rounds are held at the class level following which the best teams are selected for the semi-finals and finals, which happen on stage in front of a massive audience.

IGNITE is an intra departmental fest organized by the Commerce and Management Association CMA comprising of various events like Best Manager, Best Management Team, Debate, HR, Finance, Marketing, Business Plan and Business Quiz. The undergraduate B Com and BBA students are divided into clusters where they will compete in business, financial and management events for the best group. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals. The event also created the right platform for new undergraduate entrants to showcase their talent in various activities.The Commerce and Management Association conducted an Intra Cultural and Literary Fest for B Com and BBA undergraduate students comprising various events like Mime, Dance, singing, Trash art etc. a platform to express the creative and talented side of the students. It was an inter class competition with the prize for the best class and best performer. The two-day event saw a lot of active participation of nearly 182 commerce and management undergraduate students across multiple verticals where a lot of talent was show cased.
