About the Event
The Department of Languages is organising a session on Reflections on AI and Memory Studies led by students Krishna Pillai of First Year MA EDH and Kareena Mathew, Second Year MA EDH on 4 December 2024 at 1:30 PM in Room No. 2111, Management Block. This session introduces the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the humanities, focusing on how AI perpetuates existing biases in key areas of everyday life. Beginning with an overview of AI's applications in the humanities, the session will critically examine the biases embedded in artificial intelligence training models and their implications for cultural, historical, and social research. Participants will also be introduced to the emerging field of memory studies, exploring its focus on how societies construct and interpret collective memory. The session aims to create a connection between AI and memory studies, discussing how AI technologies can both shape and challenge our understanding of memory in the digital age. For hands-on experience, attendees will learn to use a digital tool equipping them with practical skills to navigate this interdisciplinary nexus and allowing them a chance to know how artificial intelligence output is created.
