Founded in September 2023, Avian Allies is the official birders’ club of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The club offers a rich mix of nature walks, birding trails, discussions, and hands-on workshops designed to deepen understanding of the avian world. Beyond the joy of birdwatching, Avian Allies works to broaden awareness of local bird species, strengthen connections within the birding community, disseminate vital conservation information, and foster environmental consciousness. It has grown into a vibrant community for those passionate about birds and bird conservation, operating across multiple creative and educational verticals.

The inaugural issue of Murmurations, titled “Welcome to the Flock!”, marked the beginning of the club’s newsletter journey, celebrating discovery, patience, and the joy of connecting with birds through reflection and storytelling.
A guided walk exploring local flora and avifauna, featuring species such as kingfishers, spotted doves, common mynas, and red-whiskered bulbuls, fostering curiosity and appreciation for biodiversity.
Held on 15 February 2025 as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count, the event documented over 30 bird species on campus, blending data collection with conservation awareness.
The club showcased creative merchandise such as postcards, bookmarks, and stickers, engaging the university community and promoting avian awareness during the milestone celebration.
