The Lavasa Running Club is a student-driven initiative under the Department of Physical Education & Sports at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. Founded with the vision of promoting holistic well-being, the club encourages students, staff, and the local community to embrace running as a way of life. Offering an inclusive platform for beginners and seasoned runners alike, the club organizes weekly runs across Lavasa’s scenic terrain, endurance training sessions, fitness awareness campaigns, and participation in marathons and city runs. Through consistent practice, leadership opportunities, and peer mentoring, the Running Club nurtures discipline, resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong commitment to physical and mental fitness.

The Running Club conducts daily morning sessions from 6:00 to 7:00 AM involving students, local residents, and senior citizens. Activities include group runs, long-distance training, stretching, interval workouts, and strength drills. Regular digital engagement through WhatsApp and Instagram keeps members motivated, while future plans include evening runs, 5K/10K events, school collaborations, and community health check-ups.
Held on 9 February 2025, the Heracles of Lavasa Marathon brought together over 300 participants and 50 volunteers under the theme “Bigger, Braver, Bolder.” Organized in collaboration with NCC, CSA, Inclusiverse, and the Department of Physical Education, the marathon promoted climate action, healthy lifestyles, and inclusivity. Participants competed in 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM categories, beginning the day with an energizing Zumba session and running through Lavasa’s scenic routes in a celebration of fitness, unity, and social responsibility.
