About the Club

Econovation is a vibrant, student-led initiative that explores economics as a dynamic and evolving social science. Rooted in academic excellence and social responsibility, the club engages with contemporary economic issues, public policy, and real-world challenges through interactive learning and dialogue. By bridging theoretical concepts with practical applications, Econovation fosters critical thinking, innovation, and ethical reasoning. Through lecture series, competitions, debates, and collaborative projects, the club empowers students to understand economics as a powerful tool for societal development and informed decision-making.

Events Conducted

Founded in September 2023, Econovation was inaugurated with an insightful session by Prof. Lekha Chakraborty, an eminent economist and public finance expert. Since its inception, the club has organized a wide range of academic and interactive events that bridge economic theory with contemporary socio-political realities.

  1. Lecture Series & Scholar Dialogues

Sessions featured experts such as Prof. Lekha Chakraborty on fiscal policy and gender budgeting; Dr. Stanley Johny, International Affairs Editor at The Hindu, on geopolitics and global economic shifts; and Mr. Udit Misra from The Indian Express on Union Budget analysis. The Econexplore Series and Global Scholars Forum further enriched learning through discussions on Nobel laureates and global economic perspectives.

  1. Competitions & Student Engagement Activities

Econovation conducted intercollegiate quiz competitions, budget roundtable discussions, and interactive workshops on economic research methods, data analysis, and modeling—encouraging critical thinking and active participation.
