About the Club

The MacGuffin Film Club is a vibrant and inclusive community created for individuals who share a passion for cinema. The club provides a platform for members to explore, appreciate, and critically engage with films from diverse genres, cultures, and cinematic traditions. Through regular film screenings, post-screening discussions, workshops, and collaborative initiatives, the club nurtures creativity and encourages thoughtful dialogue. Whether one is a dedicated cinephile, an aspiring filmmaker, or simply curious about cinema as an art form, the MacGuffin Film Club offers an engaging space to connect, learn, and grow while celebrating film as a powerful medium of storytelling and communication.

To build a campus culture that appreciates cinema by creating a space for meaningful film screenings and thought-provoking discussions.
Mission
To cultivate a vibrant community of film enthusiasts by promoting critical engagement with cinema through diverse screenings, discussions, and creative workshops.

Objectives

  • Cinematic Exploration
    Screen and critically analyze acclaimed films from various genres and regions.
  • Critical Discussions
    Create open platforms for dialogue on cinematic techniques and storytelling.
  • Industry Engagement
    Organize guest lectures, talks, and interactions with film professionals.
  • Creative Practice
    Provide hands-on opportunities for filmmaking, storytelling, and photography through showcases and competitions.

Events Conducted

Over the past academic year, the MacGuffin Film Club organized more than ten impactful events, maintaining a consistent rhythm of at least two screenings per month. The club actively collaborated with other campus organizations to create shared cinematic experiences, combining screenings with discussions, guest interactions, and student showcases that deepened engagement with film culture.
